Default record for domain query

I need to create a CNAME pointing to my www. record (which is a WIP). This is for the default domain, so when typing mydomain.com it goes to

 

I tried just a CNAME for record mydomain.com., but while no error, I have no record (in zonerunner).

 

I did create a wildcard *.mydomain.com. record though, but it is not working for a mydomain.com query, just the typo queries like wwww.mydomain.com or asfdf.mydomain.com.

 

Can this be done?
