Default client and server ssl profile usage

the default client ssl profile can be useful to quickly setup a HTTPS virtual server for testing, but beyond that i wouldn't use it. do remember it is the basis of your actual ssl client profiles so changes there propagate further. F5 advises not to make changes to those default profiles btw.

 

the default server ssl profile can be used for any SSL connections to pool members that need it. there it often is enough and custom profiles aren't needed.
