AdvWAF can mask certain data in an HTTP transaction at layer 7. Think of payload data such as user credentials or other information that a client passes to a web application. What are you trying to mask?

Thanks, Erik. It supports layer2 and layer3 deployment, right?

If I understand your question the answer is yes, BIG-IP supports layer 2 and layer 3. Advanced WAF only secures HTTP at layer 7. Does that make sense?
