Custom monitor to monitor servers on telnet port 23
Hi,
Can someone help me setting up custom health monitor on F5 to monitor backend servers (in pool) for telnet port.
i.e.., I am looking for a monitor example to do the telnet to the pool members to do the health check. What I need from monitor is to do the telnet to the server and provide the user-id and password and upon successful logging and logout makes the pool up or else marks it as down.
What all parameters that needs to be consider ?
Thanking you in advance.

Hi,
If you want to monitor a pool member on a port different from the one defined within the pool check Alias Service Port in monitor settings.
Thanks,

VIP abc listening on port 23
Pool XYZ
10.10.10.10 port 23
10.10.10.11 port 23
here pool xyz needs to be monitored using telnet port 23 to see if server is up and running.
such a health monitor does not exist.
you might want to look into an external health monitor and build one yourself
