Jun 08, 2016Custom Alert for device temperature
Dear All,
Good day !!!
We have one requirement from user that they want to get an E-Mail alert when the device temperature hits 28*C . Is there any possible way to achieve this in F5 . AFAIK it can be achieved in some ways , like editing user_alert.conf or through iCall script.
However I couldn't find either one of those, any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance !!!

Dear Avinash, Looking for solution without changing the pre-defined DB variable. Please post if any. - Vijay_E

My recommendation is not to change the db value without getting approval from F5. I have run into issues where the wrong db value has caused breakdown of F5 due to issues like memory leak/corruption. I would also recommend considering the business requirement of such a request. Can you push back on this request ? Is there a significant value-add for such a change ? Also, if possible, open up a case with F5 to confirm if it is okay to change the db value before making any such changes.
