curl 'Couldn't resolve host' error with IPv6 IP address in 11.5.4

Hello, I am attempting to use the curl command in the 11.5.4 bash CLI to test a website. The following commands works in 10.2.4 & 11.4.1: curl -6 However, when I attempt this same syntax command in 11.5.4, curl returns the following error message: curl: (6) Couldn't resolve host '' Can anyone tell me what causes this error?
