Create NS record for Zones on the GTMs

Hi, I have a pair of GTMs as active/active deployed across 2x physically separate Datacenters. However, they share the same DNS configuration and Zone files etc....

 

They collectively own a dedicated DNS zone. The parent DNS which is a AD based Windows DNS has a NS record pointing to the GTMs as authoritative servers for that ZONE.

 

I am supposed to host a SOA as well as NS record on the GTMs for owning that ZONE.

 

The problem here is that, it looks like I can create only one NS record for that ZONE. I have 2x GTMs that I need to make responsible for that Zone. So, I need 2x NS entries. I have no way of doing it.

 

Any help.....much appreciated.

    Hi myself,

     

    Well in fact is something very simple, you just need to add . in the end of the register, for example:

     

    View name = external

     

    Zone name = example.com.

     

    Name= example.com.

     

    TTL= 3600

     

    Nameserver = ns2.example.com.
