Sep 10, 2009CPU Speed in Statistics
Hi Joe,
When I click "Guess" the CPU speed under statistics in the iRule Editor (v0.9.1.5), it detects a C102-1600 (corect) at 1600 MHz (incorrect). Validation with cat proc/cpuinfo shows the CPU at 1800 MHz with dual cores. Given this, is it appropriate to change the CPU Speed to 3600 MHz in the editor, or would this somehow skew the statistic calculations (LTM v10.0.1)?
Thanks in advance,
SH

I'd guess it depends on whether you're testing an iRule which uses multiple CPUs via CMP or not. You can check this wiki page for details:

How did your testing go?
I ran into this recently and figured that if the iRule is CMP compatible you could theoretically double the CPU speed, but not consider this to be an exact figure. Cycles from one CPU will still be needed for handling everything other than load balancing.
You might also try posting in the Performance Testing forum for more info (Click here).
