copy bigip .conf file
Hi,
What would be the best way to move all configuration from an existing F5 LTM device to a new one that will replace the current one ? The existing LTM is a BIG-IP 8950, the new one will be BIG-IP 7250v. Importing the .ucs file did not work as interfaces are not the same. I was thinking to just copy the bigip.conf file on the new LTM and further config the interfaces manually. Is there any risk doing this ? The old F5's run 10.x software, the new one will run 11.x
Kind regards,
Frederik

Frederik,
How about using a Single Configuration File (SCF). See the following SOL: " target="_blank">Overview of single configuration files.
Alternatives is build 10.x on the new appliances and import the UCS file. If you restore in tmsh using the no-license no-platform switches that might get around the different platform issue.
Hope this helps,
N
