Connection Limit , Connection Rate Limit in virtual server

what is the recommended Connection Limit , Connection Rate Limit in virtual server which will helps detect Denial of Service attacks?

    Connection Rate Limit is best option to protect DOS/DDOS attacks. I will prefer this method.

        I have applied iRule[Connection Rate Limit ] based on expert advice. So far we are good. Let see if any one had different ideas?
