Configuring Global Network Acceleration
Working on accelerating traffic across the WAN using this F5 resource: Configuring Global Network Acceleration
Will give some explanation on what I have done so far to give a better understanding, but I am currently having troubles on the client side of the WAN.
- Have added the remote BIG-IP to the local trust group
- Created a Folder for Synchronized Applications, and it is synchronized with the remote BIG-IP
- Created an Acceleration Policy, which is synchronized with the remote BIG-IP
- Created an Application Profile for Symmetric Deployment
- Enabled Acceleration with Web Acceleration Profile
- Pool and Virtual Server has been created on the Central BIG-IP. I can reach the web application no problem through this virtual server.
- Local iSession endpoint is setup
- Virtual server has been added as an advertised route
I have confirmed that the iSession endpoints can see each other and it the diagnostics are not reporting errors. The trouble I am having now is routing the traffic across this iSession tunnel.
Remote BIG-Configuration
- Created a new Web Acceleration profile and enabled acceleration
Now the guide suggests that a virtual server is created and a pool be selected from the resources area. I feel the problem here is that the text for this step is an exact copy of the instructions within the Central BIG-IP configuration.
I have created a virtual server, attached the Web Acceleration profile, and tested with a pool of servers and without. When I test from a remote workstation to use this virtual server (via HOSTS file on workstation), the browser cannot connect to the web application.
Any thoughts on what is needed to fix this ?
