Oct 15, 2010configuring asm with command line
Hi everyone !
Is there way to configure ASM through command line if yes, then from which shell we have to configure it eg. advanced shell, tmsh shell, bigpipe shell. could anyone share the commands & steps required to log in to asm module. I would be thankful if some could guide me through tmsh shell if possible.

Hi Syed,
ASM's configuration is stored in a MySQL database. There aren't any supported methods for modifying the ASM configuration via the command line.
If you have specific use cases you'd like F5 to consider for CLI policy administration, you could open a 'request for enhancement' case with F5 Support.

Hi Hoolio !
Thanks for the info.
I am new to F5 and have one more query, is there a way to take backup of ASM configuration or all F5(all modules at once) config to the Desktop? If yes ,can you explain me the steps. Your response is higly appreciated. - Nathan_Houck_65

One feature would that would be nice is the ability to query the ASM DB on the CLI for details of a specific Policy. - nitass
