Configure two service ports as a group
Hi Everyone,
I want to group two service ports together.
For example, a hc-track-group of the Brocade VDX.
-
Two service ports are being health check on one node. (port 80 / port 81)
-
When one monitor is down, the remaining monitor will also be down. (Group status down)
-
When one monitor is up, the remaining monitor will also be up. (Group status up)
Is it possible to configure the same thing in F5?
Do I need to use iRules to configure?
Thanks.
- Two service ports are being health check on one node. (port 80 / port 81) -- you can add members with port 80 & 81 with same IP
- When one monitor is down, the remaining monitor will also be down. (Group status down) -- monitor availability all
- When one monitor is up, the remaining monitor will also be up. (Group status up) -- This may not be possible in pool monitor.

With a single monitor you would need to use an External Monitor else just setup two monitors with alias ports set to 80 and 81 and assign both to a pool member or node.
See the following for more details about External Monitors: LTM External Monitors: The Basics
