Combine F5+HTTPS with Apache+MOD_JK and JBOSS Application Server

Hi guys,

 

Need your insight about this system design. Currently our system is :

 

Internet+https --> Apache+https+mod_jk --> JBOSS (http)

 

Since the number of incoming requests is going higher,we already implement Software loadbalancer (pound) to handle large traffic. But it seems pound do not handle HTTPS very well. So we change to hardware then come up with F5.

 

Is it possible to manage HTTPS with F5? Our design is :

 

Internet+https->F5+SSL->Apache+https(?)+mod_jk->Jboss (http)

 

Any advice are most welcome...
