Cisco ACE serverfarm cookie-string
Hello,
We are currently testing the F5 LTM and we need to know how to do the following cookie stickyness :
we have 2 physical server hosting 2 different applications . We defined a separate serverfarm for per application using the same real servers. We need a client accessing applicationA is sticked to server A. The same client accessing the ApplicationB must also been sticked to server A.
We did it using an identical cookie-string on the serverfarm of the 2 applications. As you can see below, the serverA of the first serverfarmA have the same cookie value as the server A of the serverfarmB.
serverfarm host ApplicationA-SF rserver SERVERA cookie-string "R1111111" inservice rserver SERVERB cookie-string "R2222222" inservice
serverfarm host ApplicationB-SF rserver SERVERA cookie-string "R1111111" inservice rserver SERVERB cookie-string "R2222222" inservice
What is the equivalent in F5 ? Thanks in advance. Regards.

If I was using the same pool (server farms) for both virtual servers then all I would have to do is enable cookie persistence on each virtual server (F5 cookie persistence is pool based) SOL6917: Overview of BIG-IP persistence cookie encoding.
If you are using different pools, then I would probably use SOL5837: Match Across options for session persistence
