Jan 13, 2010Check for Microsoft KB
Hi All,
Can anyone tell me how I would achieve the following.
1. setup test user on F5 Firepass running 6.0.3
2. assign that user to endpoint security policy that will not let them in if they have not got the 4 latest microsoft hotfixes installed.
I have read this article https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/10000/600/sol10613.html but as I am not too familiar with F5 Firepass device itself i would like to know how to setup a local test user and map it to a policy as said above.
Thank You

With the 4 latest hf's? You can not dictacte that but rather the specific KB's installed on the windows device. Unless this changed recently.
Go to the prelogon sequence -> Add an action -> Extended Windows and IE Info.
Then go to the troubleshooting tab -> enable session variables on logon.
Log on to the firepass. Check the logon page and click on your userid. It will then display at the bottom the session variables including the KB's installed on the device.
You can then do a protected configuration for what you are asking. - Paul_Hogan_7050

Hi
Thanks for that.
Yes I will be using the KB numbers.
Was hoping for more of a step by step through the process as I am not very familiar with firepass. - Mike_61719

I guess it is possible to add screenshots, if you are having issues just post back.
