Can't access my virtual server in (performance)HTTP type.
Hi all,
I created a virtual server in HTTP(performance) type, the problem is that when i try to access it via web - I get nothing. When I change the type to standard, I can access by web.
Dose anyone also have this issue before, or know how to help me with that?

Do you have an irule associated with it?

I would check the following:
-
Do you get any errors in the ltm log?
-
Is address and/or port translation disabled?
-
Perform a tcpdump capture on the client and server side of the F5 and see if traffic is making it from the client all the way to the server, and then back.

Hi Kevin,
1) by saying LTM log - u meant System->Logs->Local Traffic. and if so i don't see there any errors. 2) don't really understand that q.

Yes, System - Logs - Local Traffic. You can also access the LTM log form the management shell:
tail -f /var/log/ltmIf there's a configuration and/or iRule error somewhere, it'll often show up in this log. You may want to watch it as you're testing.

If you look in the virtual server properties, you'll see two check boxes for "Address Translation" and "Port Translation". Switching between virtual server types can sometimes change these values. In most cases you'll want these options enabled.

Okay, so I stopped being lazy and tested it out for myself. You are indeed correct. On an 11.5.x system, it appears that if you switch between standard and performance HTTP virtual server types, it stops working. You can sometimes cycle back and forth from a performance layer 4 and get it to work, but the most reliable option has been to bigstart restart the system. This is definitely not a desirable experience. Would you mind opening a support ticket?
