May 06, 2009Cannot validate service account against Operations Manager
Hi all
I m having trouble with the installation whereby it cannot validate the service account against Operations Manager.
The error popup i m getting is :
"There was a problem trying to validate the service account against Operations Manager. Make sure the account is part of a group defined by the OPeratiosn Manager Administrators inside the Security-User Roles section of the Operations Manager Console: The length of the string cannot be zero. Parameter nam: connectionSetting.ServerName"
Not sure if i m missing anything here. Service account is part of Opsmgr admin group and is in that role.
regards
B
- Dave_Ruddell_79Historic F5 AccountIt looks like it can't find the Ops Manager SDK server key in the registry. Can you please run SystemInformation.ps1 script by following the instructions on this page: Click here. Once you have the log file, attach the results to a post in this thread.

Thanks for the hint and have been able to resolve this to continue with the installation. Looks like the registry key "DefaultSDKServiceMachine" was empty and didnt have the DNS value of the RMS server for the install to look up.
