Cann i replace Siteminder with F5

Hi we are using siteminder for authentication and authorization of a user using LDAP user store and policy store. We are using F5 as a load balancer. Since i am new to F5, i just wanted to know if F5 has that capability to do authentication and authorization that Siteminder is doing. If it can't then please suggest if there is any other alternative. We are thinking of replacing siteminder with something else.

    Hi Satish,

You can perform client authentication with relatively limited functionality against an LDAP database using the advanced client authentication module (at an additional license cost) using an iRule. Or you could look into the new Access Policy Manager (APM) module which seems to provide much more extensive functionality. An F5 presales engineer should be able to give you more detailed recommendations based on our specific scenario.

  • Hi,

Can someone tell something more to me about APM. Someone who is using it in production environment for protecting web applocation resources.

    Thanks,
