Boot from USB device

Hi all,

I trying to make my LTM boot from a USB device as it is described in the following link:

https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/products/big-ip_ltm/releasenotes/umd_install_9_4_x.htmlupgrade

but although I follow every single step, my LTM always boots from the hard disk. Do I have to change some parameter to set up the boot order??

  • Here is a SOL regarding changing the parameter for USB booting

    https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/9000/300/sol9399.html

    Hope this helps

  • Hi,

I tried to follow the steps you sent me, but I have no good results. My problem is that I entered in the following menu:

    [hostconsh] Command Menu:

1 --- Connect to Host subsystem console

2 --- Select Host subsystem boot mode: boot from local drive

3 --- Select Host subsystem boot mode: netboot from SCCP

4 --- Select Host subsystem boot mode: netboot from external server

5 --- Reboot Host subsystem (sends reboot command)

6 --- Halt Host subsystem (sends halt command)

7 --- Reset Host subsystem (issues hardware reset--USE WITH CARE!)

8 --- Reboot SCCP subsystem (issues hardware reset--USE WITH CARE!)

9 --- Halt SCCP subsystem (issues hardware shutdown--USE WITH CARE!)

Q --- Exit Host subsystem console shell

    [hostconsh] Enter command:

and type 7, y and 1, but the option 1 have no effect! I loose control on the menu and I cannot continue with the instructions. I am also trying to perform a clean instalation using a PXE server, but the result is the same when I pressed 1. why does not option 1 do anything??
