BIP 1500 vs Firepass

To All;

 

 

I have a requirement to provide a vpn over SSL and/or provide access to citrix metaframe over the ssl port. I have looked at all the functions of the firepass 1000 and it appears to do exactly what we need. we just purchased the big-ip 1500 is there an add-on to this device or current feature set which would provide some of the same or similar capibilities. Thank you in advance.

Based on the requirements you have outlined and the fact that FirePass 1000 already meets your need the best option would be to go with FirePass 1000 for secure access to Citrix MetaFrame. FirePass 1000 is a best of breed SSL VPN remote access solution that fully supports Citrix MetaFrame environments with a wide variety of flexible options including access using Citrix nFuse as well as Citrix MetaFrame. It also provides clientless access to Citrix eliminating the need to install and manage Citrix clients on the end-user device and supports SSO . F5 has long-term plans to integrate BIG-IP and FirePass however it is not in the short-term. Hope this helps.
