BigIP LTM as its own IPS?

I understand that an LTM can direct traffic to a separate IPS for screening. However, does F5 provide some inspection and blocking capability within the BigIP itself?

I don't believe so. Obviously the ASM module provides application firewall capabilities but it's not a function I'd refer to as IPS.
