BIGIP F5 as External DNS forwarder

Hi,

 

I am new to F5 and needs urgent help please as I am in the middle of my configurations.

 

Below is my setup

 

Internet-----ASA-------->F5------->Inside Network

 

F5 is our DNS server for local inside network and if not able to resolve then will forward query to external DNS server 8.8.8.8.

 

So when I am going to connect external website and can see hits on F5 during tcpdump but also can see DNS port 53 unreachable messages and unable to open site.

 

I have two virtual server one is for external i.e. forwarder and all allowed while other is for internal network.

 

please guide if i am missing anything

    is this all new config? so it has never worked before?

     

    have you tried enabling source address translation on the virtual server?

    If it is a virtual forwarding server, have you tried to define 

    Protocol: UDP
    (or "
    * All Protocols
    ")?
