Sep 30, 2008BIGIP and VLAN Trunks
Can BIGIP talk to other switches and allow multiple vlan traffic(trunks) and later decide where to send which vlan traffic.

BIG-IP supports 802.3ad (LACP) under Trunks in the GUI, and then multiple VLANs can be tagged (802.1q) on a trunk.

So does that mean,
1. I can have multiple interfaces from the loadbalancer connect to the layer 2 switch while binding them to the same VLAN for redundancy (EtherChannel).
2. I can make multiple VLANs to be carried through multiple interfaces of the loadbalancer to a layer 3 switch outside to the outer world.
TIA

EtherChannel is Cisco proprietary, so not exactly. You will have to use LACP (802.3ad) instead, which does more or less the same thing. You can assign any VLAN to any interface (including an LACP trunk) by defining the VLAN tag and then adding a tagged interface to the VLAN.
