BIG-IQ and redundant LTM's

Just starting out with BIG-IQ 5.0 w/HF1. I've imported a redundant pair of LTM's (active/standby). We want to use BIG-IQ so that our NOC can take servers out of rotation from pools when requested by the app teams.

However, BIG-IQ shows the vips/pools/members from both the active and the standby LTM's. Is there a way to only display the items from the active LTM?

  • BIG-IQ will keep the configs in sync for both devices in the HA pair, so the answer is that they can edit either through BIG-IQ and BIG-IQ will keep the devices in sync.

There is currently not a way to limit the view to only the active device.

One thing I noticed is that if I make a change directly on the Active ltm and hadn't synced the pair yet, then take a pool member out of service on the standby ltm, it does overwrite my changes on the active ltm. That could be a real problem if engineering is making changes and the NOC has to take a server out of rotation at the same time....

  • Thanks Kyle. I tested that out and disabled a pool member on the standby ltm and like you said, it synced over to the active ltm. Thanks again.
