IMHO, the criteria of using both of the self-IP and management IP or only management IP address is how much you want to segregate data and control traffic.

 

Therefore the risk of using only management IP address would be the lost of LTM/GTM stat data, LTM/GTM accessibility issue from BIG-IQ, lost of management through BIG-IQ if there is any issue with the management network.
