Big-IP VE LTM V14 to V16 then to V17 upgrade licensing question

Hello,   Does anyone know if a v14 license is still valid if I upgrade to v16 and then to v17?  I know that I will need to reactivate because of the date on the v14 license but that's about all I k...

So apparently, the original licenses were for v13.  I did a grep Exclusive_version /config/bigip.license and received:

Exclusive_version :           11.6.*
Exclusive_version :           12.*.*
Exclusive_version :           13.*.*
Exclusive_version :           14.*.*
Exclusive_version :           15.*.*
Exclusive_version :           16.*.*
Exclusive_version :           5.*.*
Exclusive_version :           6.*.*
Exclusive_version :           7.*.*
Exclusive_version :           8..

 

I was able to upgrade to 16 but when I went to 17 it said license not valid.  Does this mean I need to purchase new licenses?

    no need for new license.

    just renew the annual support & maintenance service.

    Yes, you need to buy a new license. Your perpetual license is limited to above versions.
