BIG-IP VE hard drives size

Hello all,

We are installing BIG-IP VE 14.1.2 on vmware ESXi host.

About the disk considerations and to prepare us for future upgrades, we need to know the exact recommended sizing for virtual disks.

Based on that BIG-IP VE document: https://clouddocs.f5.com/cloud/public/v1/vmware/vmware_setup.html#virtual-machine-storage-requirements

We can see that HD1 should have at least 82GB in size, but nothing is said about the HD2 (2nd hard disk).

Question:

Based on all the modules that we have

-             MGMT

-              LTM

-             ASM

-             FPS

-             APM

-             AFM

PLUS our BIG-IPs will also be default gateways for the servers VLAN (back-end and front-end) and also Load Balancing 2xADFS servers

What will be F5’s HD sizing recommendation for HD1 and HD2 ? Can someone provide us all the information for this recommendation?

Thank you very much.

Kind regards,

NS

  • Another question is to know if we can merge HD1 with HD2 in F5 Linux CentOS ? Instead of extending HD1 (which cannot be done due to a technical issue)..
