Big IP v9.3 LTM - HTTP Profile WAN Optimized Compression Caching

Hi all,

I have a question concerning this article (http://devcentral.f5.com/wiki/default.aspx/AdvDesignConfig/HTTPProfileWANOptimizedCompressionCaching.html) and the HTTP profile created : why "just" choose a cache of 50 mb ? Is there a problem of performance if we allow more memory space for file cache ?

Thanks a lot,

Laurent.

I believe the 50MB limit is arbitrary in that example. It looks like you could set just about any limit you want. Keep in mind, though, any memory you allocate for RAMCache isn't going to be available for the rest of your system's processing needs. Because of this it's advisable to cache as needed, but not set aside huge amounts of un-needed cache space.
