BIG-IP shows GTM Rate, 8 as an active module.. what is the capability here?
Hi
In our BIG-IP, under the Active modules, I know what GTM is for, but we didn't buy it. I see GTM listed a number of times, though it isn't enabled. What does this "GTM Rate, 8" mean? Is it useable in some degraded manner (w/o buying a license)?
Active modules: GTM-DNS, Rate Limited, LO, BIG-IP(Perpetual) (BMAWLHX-TRPEDZJ) ◦DNS Rate Fallback, 50 ◦GTM Rate Fallback, 8 ◦DNS Licensed Objects, 0 ◦GTM Rate, 8 ◦DNS Rate Limit, 50 QPS ◦GTM Licensed Objects, 0
Thanks / Doug

I have the same question. Mine is:
GTM-DNS, Rate Limited, LO, BIG-IP(Perpetual) DNS Rate Fallback, 50 GTM Rate Fallback, 8 DNS Licensed Objects, 0 GTM Rate, 8 DNS Rate Limit, 50 QPS GTM Licensed Objects, 0What does all this mean, except "DNS Rate Limit, 50 QPS"?

This was a DNS-Lite version; and was available on BIG-IP 11.4.0 through 12.1.0 as a rate-limited, non-licensed, and provisioned evaluation and testing of DNS and GSLB services at no charge. Starting September 1, 2016 and any future licensing updates to current BIG-IP deployments will EoL DNS-Lite.
If you are using DNS-Lite for testing and evaluation, F5 recommends a replacement with a 30-day trial BIG-IP Evaluation License available from your local SE. The EoL of the DNS-Lite features allow F5 to focus on developing and supporting core capabilities and trials that are more commonly needed by customers.
