BIG-IP LTMs - Failover if network interfaces down?
I have a HA pair (Active:Standby) with 2 interfaces on each appliance that are for application traffic and 2 interfaces that are failover connections.
If the 2 interfaces that are for application traffic are down the LTMs don't failover and this means that no application traffic is processed. Should I use VLAN failsafe to make failover happen in this situation? or is VLAN failsafe meant for solving a different problem?
thanks

are you trunking these 2 production interfaces? if so , you can use HA GROUP to track their status

The interfaces are part of a trunk but I don't see any settings for "HA Group" in the settings. The devices are in a HA group but there doesn't seem to be a setting to "track" the traffic interfaces/trunk within that configuration either.
Can you give a bit more detail on how to setup HA Group to track their status?

vlan and interfaces are to be considered as one factor. So here the solution is to enable vlan failsafe and the fail safe action is to failover. Keep your timeout value as per your needs.
But do refer the recommendations section of this Article, tells you when to configure this.
