Big-IP LC 4.5.14 / 9.4.6 Failover Partner

I am running a Big-IP Link Controller 4.5.14 that needs to be replacing with a F5 Big-IP Link Controller 9.4.6.     Has anybody ever setup a F5 LC 9.4.6 as a failover partner with a F5 LC ...

The voltage might get the other unit to stay standby, I haven't tried that. When you are swapping out boxes though, all it takes to fail back is to disconnect the cables from the new box, reconnect them to the old box, and clear arp on the switch/router, so being without a secondary unit for a few minutes during a maintenance window doesn't seem like a big issue to me.
