BIG-IP DNS not marking the VIP down

Hi Guys, Good Day.

 

I have an iglb (GTM) entry that has 1 Pool, the Pool uses tcp Health monitor and has 4 members that uses Topology Load Balancing method. All the 4 members in BIG-IP DNS are VIPs in LTM.

 

The VIPs in LTM again uses TCP health monitor to check the status of it's pool members.

 

Issue: When we bring down the pool members in LTM, the GTM still marks that VIP as up. Is it because of the tcp health monitor? If we want the GTM to mark that VIP down, what changes should be made?

    Do you have a bigip health monitor on the Servers (which are the LTMs in the DNS part of the GUI)? If so you shouldn't then need a monitor in the pool section too. The bigip monitor should relay virtual server health to the DNS pool.
