I cant seem to fogure out what basic i-rule i need for a new test site i've created for our new v10 big ip's
basically I have a virtual server created for a site.
and when traffic hits it I just need it to be sent to a pool called pool_front.

You don't need an iRule for that. Just assign pool_front as the default pool on the virtual server.
Aaron- iRules are great for some things, but the basic config is usually the way to go if it'll work for you. Hoolio's right, just assign a default pool.
