Backup messages and files on Android

Does anyone happen to know if it's possible to backup messages (such as emails and text messages) and files, then restore it using the same application? I'm on the Android platform.

    Partially it's possible to take backup. Yes, you can able to take backup your text messages by 'SMS Backup & Restore' application which is available on android market http://kdanmobile.com/en/ . I have found more solution from this site.
