Is there a way to configure interfaces to work in an active/standby mode, so I can two interfaces connected to different switches, but only one being active?
You can do this with STP. Just set the priorities so that the blocking link is one of the uplinks. You'll probably need to configure active STP though. And be careful to make sure all your VLANs are configured correctly (As most sites will be using PVST).
