May 15, 2013ASM Database
I'm working with a VE image to better understand how ASM builds policies, so several times I've created policies, populated data, then removed the policy from the VIP and deleted it to start over. I've noticed that when I delete a policy, something must remain in the database because if I re-use the same policy name, ASM recognizes the name and increments the name with the next sequential number. Any suggestions on how to actually clear out the database and start with a clean slate?

- Have you deleted the policy from the recycle bin? (or whatever the equivalent is in 11.3) In 11.2 Security Policies -> Policies List -> Recycle Bin.
