NimbostratusASM as an IPS
I have an environment where my hosting network group would like to use ASM and an IPS instead of implementing ISS or TippingPoint. Has this been attempted?

I did not quite get the question - the subject says "ASM as an IPS" and the message body says "ASM and an IPS" :-)
ASM is a Layer 7 Web Application Firewall and is not a Network IPS. Having said that BIG-IP platform does have some Network IPS features such as DoS attacks/ SYN flood prevention and dynamic connection reaping...
