APM 11.5.1.HF5 w/ Win8.1 & IE11

Has anyone experienced any anomalies with Windows 8.1 & IE11 clients when connecting to APM 11.5.1?

For instance, when hitting the portal page, some content (i.e.: background image) is not rendered in the browser. The entire page looks horrible. The user cannot even log into the portal because of a 'security issue with the server' (F5 APM).

The site is 100% accessible when using Win8.1 w/ IE10, Win7 w/ IE11/10/9/8, all versions of Firefox, Chrome, and Opera (for both Win7/Win8/Mac OS X).

My next step is to gather some additional data with Fiddler/HTTPWatch and tcpdump.

  • I have a similar setup but do not experience the same problem you're talking about. You can check the developer tools in IE and see the network traffic (F12 to open dev tools). Maybe somethings not loading right. Fiddler would be just as good :)

For the security issue, is it an SSL cert error, or F5 error page?

  • The SSL cert error is an IE generated page. The certificate and chain are 100% valid. The SSL Profile ciphers have RC4 disabled (DEFAULT:!RC4). The virtual server does not have SPDY enabled. It's rather generic otherwise.

And we do have a case open with Microsoft since Nov 2014. They haven't been overly helpful; with them bouncing it between their IE and security teams and back to us saying to engage F5. I'll open a case with F5 when they can show me evidence that there is an issue with the the APM.

Have you tried putting the domain in the trusted zone and/or removing protected mode from the zone to see if that makes any differences? I've seen where protected mode screws things up before.
