APM - Remove the "home button" search field part

Hi

I got a question from a customer regarding the APM and I have very limited knowledge regarding the APM. The question seems fairly simple if you have some knowledge of the product. The question is:

"Is it possible to remove the "home button" search field part when you use webtop of the access type Portal Access and link type application URI (for instance with OWA links)"

I've tried to find information about this on both devcentral and on the web but I didn't find anything on it. Could you guys perhaps help me answer the customer's questions and hopefully I will also learn something about the APM.

I greatly appreciate replies on this.

Thanks!

  • Possibly yes, but I didn't try, and it's not trivial. You should open 'Access Policy ›› Customization : Advanced', switch to 'Advanced' Edit mode, and edit the hometab.inc of your portal access webtop. There is 'homeTabElem' array, you should comment all code related to non-required element.

  • Hey Alexey

Sorry I haven't replied earlier. I sent your reply to the customer and they were pleased to know what file they could edit in order to solve the issue but they solved it using a different method.

    Anyway, thanks for your reply!

  • you don't need to edit the .inc

to remove only home tab you need to do that under customization >> advanced >> customization settings >> webtops >> specific webtop >> web applications hometab settings >> set of elements to be displayed >> remove home. And for this you need webtop assigned.

  • Thanks. I actually just did this and cleared all of the items listed saved the changes and applied the apm policy. cleared all my browser cache, form data, etc and this thing is still popping up. This is frustrating. I have a portal access webtop assisgned and my portal access resource assign to the policy. Everything is working fine just this bar keeps showing up even after I removed these items. I thought it was a browser cache issue but it doesn't seem to be. Not sure if there is another way to have APM "reload" its config?

  • Well now I'm having an issue syncing my active/standby unit. I'll be opening a ticket with F5 then get back to this later. Thanks again.

  • did this yesterday and for me it worked, which version are you running? are you sure everything was saved and the policy applied?
