Any tools can test WA performance

I am evaluating the BigIp WA myself.

 

For my testbed I have installed an Ubuntu server as a client gateway (Bridge or NAT depentent on scenario) with two nics and a nice script from Landesk named wansim.pl.

 

There are no need for installing additional modules on the Ubuntu distribution, the one you need is preinstalled (netem)

 

The script allows you to set packet delay and bandwith on the nics. Works great.

 

I use Firefox with Firebug and Yslow on a Windows XP client, and httpWatch on IE.

 

HW : the gateway is an old Dell Latitude with the builtin nic and an additional ST Labs usb modem.

 

Surprisingly easy to set up and maintain.
