Mar 19, 2007AES custom Key possible?
I would like to know if it is possible for us to fix a static key for AES encryption and decryption? Since we need to interact with our partners and vendors, we need to share a common key, but we would like to leverage the capability of the AES feature provided on our BIGIP V9.x , so no recoding of the application is needed.
Your insight is greatly appreciated...

- bl0ndie_127134Historic F5 AccountNat, you can use a passphrase to generate a AES key instead of a random key; look at the documentation/example for the rule AES::key. So you should be able to share the key with your partners using the shared secret password.

Wiki doc doesn't seem to offer any information about using a passphrase to generate a key:

Should we be looking somewhere else?
(I'd be happy to update the wiki page with more detailed info if you can point us in the right direction.)
thanks!
