Additional RAM for F5 LTM 1600 Appliance

based on hardware specification, 1600 platform memory is not upgradable.

Default Memory: 4 GB  
Memory Upgradeable to: Not Available

Is it recommended to add ASM Module as an add-on to the Big IP LTM 1600 (with 4GB RAM) appliance ?

i understand ltm+asm is supported in 1600 platform (4 GB memory). anyway, i think whether it should be used or not depends on your environment. if sizing is done properly, i think it should be okay. i am not familiar with sizing, you may contact local f5 team to see if they can help out.

thanks for the response . Yes ltm+asm is supported with default RAM ; however ASM along with the critical signatures enabled may consume high memory hence 1600 with default RAM may not be sufficient for handling the traffic.
