F5 Python SDK - list certificates on device results in error

python 2.6; TMOS v12.1.1 I'm new to the F5 Python SDK and trying to obtain a list of certificates on a device. Not sure if I'm referencing wrong or if this is a specific issue to my device/configur...

Hi Jonas,

I came across your thread while I was looking for the same answer. Turns out that the src_file_names is an array of zone file paths local to BIG-IP. You'll want to upload the zone file to the BIG-IP prior to referencing it with the add_zone_file metthod. I looked for an API guide for 11.5.x and was unable to find one. The vast majority of the API in 12 is available in 11.5.x however so it might prove useful to you.

  Is there any documentation that describes the differences? I've already run into this for managing users, because the parameters are different.

  I haven't found anything. I'll see what I can find as time allows but hopefully others can point us in the right direction.

  While I cannot commit to full API references for older versions before 12.0, I'll see if I can generate additional difference files from 11.6 to 12.0.

iControl REST was an early access feature in 11.5 and not officially released as a GA feature until 11.6. At this point the only official API references we have are for 12.0. The device itself has a built-in REST API schema by browsing to https://bigip/mgmt/toc.

Starting with version 12.1, we are moving away from versioning and into a deprecation model to allow for consistency and backward compatibility when developing client apps. This should help with any difference issues between releases.

I am having problems creating new Zones (zonefiles) using iControl (JAVA). It seems to me that I am to use the method:

\nadd_zone_file (Management.Zone.add_zone_file)\n\n

and my code basically looks like this trying to add the test.se domain:\n

ManagementZoneBindingStub stub = (ManagementZoneBindingStub) new ManagementZoneLocator().getManagementZonePort(new URL(connectUrl));\n

I know that the communcation is working (authentication etc.), but when I run this particular code I get the exception:

java.io.IOException: Non nillable element 'zone_file' is null. \n\n

From what I can tell in the SDK, this is how it should be done, or am I wrong? I am a bit confused about the second parameter, src_file_names, I am not sure of what it means. I have tried testing using \"db.external.test.se\" and others, but nothing seems to work. Could you please clarify on how this should be done?\n\n

I am having problems creating new Zones (zonefiles) using iControl (JAVA). It seems to me that I am to use the method:

\nadd_zone_file (Management.Zone.add_zone_file)\n\n

and my code basically looks like this trying to add the test.se domain:\n

I know that the communcation is working (authentication etc.), but when I run this particular code I get the exception:

java.io.IOException: Non nillable element 'zone_file' is null. \n\n
