Active\Standby upgrade from 11.1.0 to 11.3.0

Hi all,

 

 

I am about to upgrade for first time of our BIGIP 1600 active/standby and some newbie advice.

 

I have imported the iso and the md5 files to the standby and I know that I should install on the HD1.1 as this is use anymore.

 

Start to install on the standby, failover the active to the standby and see if everything is ok.

 

 

But what is next or between?

 

I have read the upgrade doc and the active/standby documents and are not sure if need to do all as most of them referred to upgrade from version 10 to 11.

    What Steve mentioned is particularly relevant for customers who are running three modules on a 1600 or 3600 platform as 11.3 only supports one or two modules.

    Hi Aaron,

     

     

    We have license for LTM and use APM as "Limited mode available without a license"

     

    Can we still use the APM in Limited mode available without a license, in 11.3?

    Hi Jan,

     

     

    Yes, you can still use APM lite on 11.3 but it counts against the limit of two modules on the 1600. We should have an update to the module matrix in sol10288 published in the next couple of weeks which details the module support for 11.3.

    Hi,

     

    I will start the upgrade this weekend with the standby and do the standby active.

     

    But do I need to turn off mirroring, before on both devices?

    Hi,

     

    After reboot on the volume with 11.2.1 sp3, I am unable to ping the standby device.

     

    So you can say that my first upgrade was not a success.

     

     

    I waiting for a guy to connect to the console to see the problem ....
