(401)F5 Authorization Required

Hi all.

 

With the using of sample application java from http://devcentral.f5.com/Default.aspx?tabid=125

 

 

it is giving exception.

 

i was changed the url in ConfigSync file of iControlIntermediary for local testing purpose. the url is as follows

 

 

from https://[username]:[password]@[ipAddress]/iControl/iControlPortal.cgi url to

 

 

http://[ipAddress]/iControl/iControlPortal.cgi?username=[username]&password=[password] url

 

then i am getting the (401)F5 Authorization Required error messages.

 

so any body can help me.

    I'm working on a fix right now but in the mean time if you could remove The "@" and "" characters from your password you should be good.

  • I am sure you have figured this out by now, but wanted to post my findings. Maybe it can help others. I was having the exact same issue / error. It turns out it was a lack of permissions on the LTM. You must be an administrator on the LTM to use IControl rest. Once i had my permissions changed it worked as expected.
