1 Big-IP in each data center - different L2/L3 spaces, how to sync

I'll start with the disclaimer that I'm still on the steep part of the learning curve (you know, the part where you're drowning in how much you don't know)

 

I have a Big-IP in each data center. I have a DNS proxy in each with a floating VIP, which I'm advertising to OSPF. Queries to either VIP work as hoped. Now I want to make them redundant.

 

Config-sync and traffic groups seem like the right path, but not config-failover - and I'm having trouble working out from all of the HA-pair docs how to do this with non-L2-adjacent devices.

 

Can someone point me to the tutorial I've missed, or help me with the right search to find where this has already been answered?

 

Of course I'm happy to discuss it in this thread if it's not been covered elsewhere ;)
