I would like to migrate all of our APM policies from old F5 platform (v15.1) to newer F5 platform (v16.1). I can migrate most of the objects, except for APM. I get an error message "Import error: config version 15.1 is not compatible with BIGIP version 16.1" when import on the newer F5. I noticed there is a file calledng-export.conf inside the exported .tar file. Can I modify the following setting to correct version like this? I'm not sure if there will be bunch of other settings that may be not compatible between version. #F5[Version:15.1] #F5[Build:15.1.10.3-0.0.12.0] To #F5[Version:16.1] #F5[Build:16.1.5-0.0.3.0] Have anyone done like this before?Solved61Views0likes3CommentsPossible to export/import ASM policies via a script?
Is it possible to possible to export ASM policies from one F5 and then import the ASM policies into another F5 via a script? I'd like to export the ASM policies from our prod F5 and then import them into our DR F5 in bulk via a script instead of exporting/importing one by one. Hi, I have 25 asm policies in Version 13 BIG-IP. When importing them all in to a new instance of BIP-IP 14, 2 policies give the same error and do not import. The error reads: Can't call method "new" on an undefined value at /usr/local/share/perl5/F5/ASMConfig/Entity/Suggestion.pm line 279. Is there something in the XML file that I can adjust/remove in order to correct this? Thank you391Views0likes1CommentBIG-IQ and certificate management - why certificates are not imported
Hi, I am quite new to BIG-IQ so maybe this is very obvious question. Anyway I am quite surprised that BIG-IQ is not importing actual certificate files form BIG-IP. All test done on BIG-IQ 5.2.0 and BIG-IPs VE 13.0.0HF2. After BIG-IP import all certificates are marked as Unmanaged. Only way I can find to make certificates managed is to manually export certificates, keys and chain files from BIG-IP device and import into BIG-IQ. That is a lot of work :-( Are there any automation tools for that? Assuming that BIG-IQ have both REST API access (ober HTTPS) and SSH access to BIG-IP there should not be problem with transferring actual files from BIG-IP. I can understand security and technical issues with key files - those are most sensitive data and can/should be protected with passwords - so transfer could not be possible. But in case of just certificates or chain files there is no security/password, so there should be option to import those from BIG-IPs. Am I missing something here? I will as well appreciate any clue how this process can be automated. Piotr801Views0likes2CommentsExporting a DDoS Profile
Hi, I have a DDoS profile in my Test environment which I want to export so I can import it into our Production Environment. Is this possible? Recreating the DDoS profile in production is simple enough however we have a third party manage our Production Systems so it would be easier to have them import my policy. Thank you in advance as always. Regards653Views0likes1Comment
