I have deployed the F5 iApp for VMWare View. I am using the 'BIG-IP APM/LTM with proxied PCoIP (and Blast Extreme) connections using Connection Servers only' configuration from the deployment guide. The server team now want to add VMware UAGs to proxy the Blast connections but still want APM to do the authentication. Is this possible? Has anyone deployed APM and UAGs? The iApp and deployment guide only cover LTM with UAGs.490Views2likes1CommentAll existing iApp templates (like http for example) are deprecated in Big-IP 15.1.0...
...which leads me to think that deploying iApps using these templates is "old school", and you should start doing it in another way. Coming from Big-IP 13.X, I see a lot of new stuff mentioning LX this and that, so maybe that's the way to do it. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find an article about this. Also, reading a bit about LX: it more seems like an extra option, not a replacement. Release notes from 15.1 just say that the templates are deprecated, no reason or links to the preferred alternatives. Kind regards Vincent1.2KViews2likes5CommentsCitrix Dekstop inactivity timeout
Hello, I have a VS with full webtop/Citrix Desktop application and F5 replacing the storefront, it's work fine but the inactivity timeout doesn't work I have it on 3600 seconds on Access profile and it's working fine with portal access How can I logout a client who use a VM after a period of inactivity, Is it possible like the User inactivity in Netscaler Gateway ? I have a VDI/Storefront issue I've been scratching my head over for a few days. User logs into storefront comes up > User selects VDI session and logs in. What I'd like to have happen is when the user storefront session expires, F5 deletes the session (VDI to remain open) to prevent issues with users coming from 1 public IP to have any issues.324Views1like2CommentsExchange 2016 iApp LTM on newer versions (v14.1 and above)
Hi all, I recently upgraded a existing F5 LTM cluster running 12.1.5.x towards version 15.1.x On the cluster there where several Exchange 2016 iApps (f5.microsoft_exchange_2016.v1.0.2) with all pool monitoring features enabled (IMAPS inbox check). After the upgrade the IMAPS inbox health check with the external monitor "imap_adv_eav" failed. There were several logs regarding authentication errors. After investigation we saw a different behaviour of cURL which is executed withn the external monitor script. This is due to a new version of cURL (7.47.1 instead of 7.25 on 12.1.5). This newer version is in place in all images from 14.1.x till 16.0.x (this is what i tested). SOLUTION: If you want the external monitor to work again, you need to skip the newly added GSSAPI (Kerberos v5) which is build into the newer cURL version. This can be archived by adding the parameter --login-options "AUTH=NTLM" to the curl command in the external script. This will force the system to use NTLM auth like in previous versions and therefor will work as expected again. Hi,I need to configure a VIP with Ansible playbook by leveraging the AS3's declaration, my target is to eliminate jinja templates, in this way I will be able to have one playbook for all the tasks required. Is there someone that can help me? Thanks in advance565Views1like1Commenttmsh, can list partition.. but what about applications (path)?
with TMSH, performing a "list ltm virtual" displays the list of virtual server in the partition. If I'm in a partition (probably the same with Common but haven't tested) where I configured my applications with iApps and run a "list ltm virtual" I do not get any result. This because it's an application and I should "cd" to the application (example: cd /// ) before being able to list the virtual servers. Interesting: with virtual-address I do not need that, as it will be shown from the partition with "list ltm virtual-address". Questions: the application is somehow working as a sub-partition when in tmsh. How to get the name? "list auth partition" doesn't list the application (path). If I have tmsh scripts running, how could I list it? My issue is that the name of the app can be changed from my application manager, the partition name not (as the BIGIP admin I control that). So I should be able to find it in a dynamic way. how to list all objects in the same way as the GUI provides ("ALL-readonly" partition)?729Views1like2Commentsf5.microsoft_exchange_2010_2013_cas.v1.6.2 iApp tested with TMOS v14.x & 15.x
Hi, Does anyone know if the f5.microsoft_exchange_2010_2013_cas.v1.6.2 iApp has been tested with TMOS v14.x & 15.x? Looking at this article (https://support.f5.com/csp/article/K13497) it doesn't list versions 14.x or 15.x. I do note this on the page: 'Updated Date: Jul 11, 2017'. Also the deployment guide at https://www.f5.com/pdf/deployment-guides/microsoft-exchange-iapp-dg.pdf doesn't list those versions of TMOS as supported. I'm about to test it myself in my Exchange test environment that has two BIG-IP VEs but obviously, I need to hear if F5 have (a) tested it on TMOS 14.x & 15.x and (b) indicated the TMOS 14.x & 15.x is officially supported for this iApp before I go ahead and update my Prod systems for various security reasons.465Views1like4Comments
