ha pair
7 TopicsSlowness experienced after failover.
We currently have 2 VCMP guests in the environment configured as an HA pair. When a failover occurs to the standby, the network experiences extreme slowness after an hour or so. Has anyone else had this experience and if so what was the root cause. just a brief synopsis will do as I really just need a direction to head in for troubleshooting. this is for version 11.5.3.220Views0likes1CommentConnection Mirroring with connections showing on Standby
Hi All, I have connection mirroring and persistence mirroring enabled on the vCMP guest (5250V series). I have the connections for Virtual Servers showing on the standby unit as well for all the new connections. When I took the packet capture on standby, I see that there are packets flowing IN F5 standby (Only IN Packets) . SO, Is this normal behavior to see the packets and connections on VS Statistics when we have connection mirroring. Regards, Mohammed294Views0likes1CommentTroubleshooting failover capabilities
I am attempting (and attempting is a strong word) to troubleshoot the failover capabilities between the two VCMPs. VCMP1 is currently the Standby and VCMP2 is Active. However, attempts to force VCMP1 to be Active results in an immediate fallback to Standby. Therefore we cannot control which unit is Active. does anyone have any insight for a newbie on what could be causing this?189Views0likes2Commentsusing VIP to connect to Active LTM
Hi all, We have two LTMs in a HA pair. When we connect to one of the devices, sometimes we find that it is not the Active device and then we have to log onto the other device. Therefore to solve this problem, I would like to find out if there is a way we can configure a VIP on the LTM so that we also connect to the Active device and not the Standby device?Solved399Views0likes4CommentsActive/standby pair 2000S with 2200S?
I'm not sure if the C112 chassis is different for 2000S and 2200S, or if it is the same and the license defines capabilities. But we have a 2000S and 2200S we want to pair in active/standby. Would this work as is since licensing is the same? Or would we fall under a scenario where we need 11.4 and the load-aware failover feature? https://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/8000/600/sol8665.html LB A: Platform Name BIG-IP 2200 System Information Type C112 Active Modules LTM, Base, 2000S LB B: Platform Name BIG-IP 2000 System Information Type C112 Active Modules LTM, Base, 2000S292Views0likes1CommentStandby Appliance not close connection
Hi community, today i find a strange issue. I've an HA pair appliance, Active - Standby. I've forced Standby the applianceA and the applianceB become Active. I check the VS statistic of the standby (appliaceA), but after 1days 4vs have 10k of current connections. I've forced the disable status on the VS and the session decrease. If i reactivate the VS, the session grow as previous the disable action. If i check the state of the pool, they are all at 0 current connection. The active appliance process all the traffic correctly and no disservice occur. I've 10.2 version and the external interface is on internet. What could be the issue? Why if it is standby the session grow? Thanks! -AB271Views0likes3CommentsAuto Failback Disabled But Still Happening
Hello All, I have two 4200V LTMs running version 11.2.1 Build 1225.0 in an HA pair. They are setup in one arm mode and utilize one traffic group for failover objects (VIPs, SNATs, Self IP). Last night I applied a hotfix - I applied the hotfix to the standby unit (002) and rebooted it. I was unable to force to standby the active unit (001), which after doing some research learned that that feature isn't functional in an HA setup -> http://support.f5.com/kb/en-us/solutions/public/14000/500/sol14515.html. So I shutdown the links to the active unit (001) and it then went standby and the standby unit (002) went active. After upgrading 001 and then re-enabling the links the 001 unit immediately went active. On the traffic group configuration I do not have Auto Failback enabled but do have the 001 unit set as the default device. Is there anyway to prevent the 001 unit from immediately going active or is there a better approach to force it to standby as opposed to shutting down the links? Brian256Views0likes2Comments
